Why is DP more costly than other WSET APPs? What are the advantages of studying with DP??
1) DP is a fully independent educational specialist. We are not a wine import company or other wine business operator. Education is what we do and DP was among the very first WSET providers in mainland China. Since 2007 we have gained unique experience in teaching thousands of Chinese and international students as they prepare for WSET and other qualifications. Our quality and expertise was recognised by the WSET as one of the winners of the Riedel Trophy for WSET Educator of the Year (2016), one of only three companies attaining this award – out of 700 global providers – and the first and only company in mainland China to be honoured. We also have the most advanced wine education team in mainland China.
2) DP courses add value in numerous ways. As well as ensuring a high quality of teaching, we have created unique courses and materials to supplement our WSET offering. DP Foundation is designed to help wine beginners in China approach wine in this challenging market. DP’s Intermediate/Advanced Course handbooks are bilingual (i.e., Chinese and English) and exclusively designed for DP’s Intermediate/Advanced students. We have created unique homework and other forms of assessment designed to help you pass your WSET exams and enhance your understanding. DP Intermediate/Advanced students also receive a set of 6 ISO glasses to carry on your wine-tasting experience after class!
3) Class size and teaching environment. We like to keep things small and focused! In Beijing we typically offer no more than 16 seats in any given class; 14 seats in Shanghai and Shenyang and 12 seats in our other centres. This promotes effective interaction between teachers and students. All classrooms are student and wine-friendly environments in which to study. All classes are also supported by WeChat groups, in case you have additional questions or concerns.
Once I’ve passed the WSET Level 3 and filled out the Diploma registration form, can I start Diploma class immediately?
No! Once you have submitted your registration form, we will assess your application and may contact you by telephone, if necessary. We will then inform you as to whether or not you have been successful in ensuring a place. Once you have paid the first installment of your tuition fees, we will ensure that you are registered with WSET for your designated Level 4 course.
Why can’t I register for one of the courses on the website?
The following may cause the registration forms to be invisible:
- There is no course scheduled at the moment.
- All courses are fully seated.
Please kindly contact us to confirm course availability.
Does Dragon Phoenix currently have job openings?
Sorry, we are not hiring right now. However, if you are interested in becoming one of our educators, please contact our Education Manager Joanna Qiao (email: joanna@dpwc.co, mobile: 18301041252)
What is the Diploma Online class like?
The Diploma online theory courses will generally be conducted through online audio and video conferencing APPs, such as “Tencent meeting”. If students have any questions in class, they can communicate with the teachers through the online chat-box.
What is the DP Intermediate Wine Course? What is the difference between this course and the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines?
The DP Intermediate Wine Course is a unique program which combines the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines with extra content and support we believe is essential to our students studying in China. This is a 4-day course, with over 50 wines for tasting. The tuition fee is 6,600 RMB. This includes the exam fee for the Award, study materials, and all the wines tasted during class. Additionally, students receive a copy of DP’s exclusive Chinese-English study material.
